Nine weeks ago, during what we thought was just a routine 20-week scan, our world completely changed. We found out our baby has a rare and serious tumor called a sacrococcygeal teratoma.
In a matter of weeks, it grew rapidly into a life-threatening condition, affecting our baby’s organs and requiring constant monitoring and specialized care in Boston. Since then, our days have been filled with hospital visits, long drives, and waiting for answers that never feel certain. The emotional toll has been incredibly heavy—living in a constant state of worry, trying to stay hopeful while preparing for the unknown, and carrying a kind of fear and exhaustion that’s hard to put into words. It’s been mentally draining in every way, but we keep going for our baby.
At 26 weeks, my water broke unexpectedly, and I was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where I’m now on bed rest, hoping to safely make it to 34 weeks. The tumor continues to grow, and after a C-section, our baby will need immediate, intensive support followed by a complex surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. We’re taking this one day at a time, doing everything we can to stay strong through something that feels so overwhelming.
We are deeply grateful for any support—whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or keeping our family in your thoughts. It truly means more than we can express.
