Baby Ariella continues to fight through challenges no newborn should ever have to face. ❤️

Her surgery, originally scheduled for this week, has now been postponed after complications with her thyroid required immediate medication and stabilization. Doctors also discovered the tumor had blocked her bladder internally, causing dangerous fluid buildup. In an incredibly rare and complex situation, her care team performed a procedure for her catheter that her family was told has never been done before in the United States.

Despite everything, Ariella is stable. She is breathing on her own with slight ventilator support, her heart remains strong, and she continues to amaze everyone around her with her strength. The tumor has now grown to nearly 17cm.

While Ariella fights in Boston, her parents are doing everything they can to hold life together outside the hospital walls. Her mother remains by her side while her father travels back and forth for work. The family is now facing housing changes, lost income, travel expenses, food costs, and uncertainty surrounding insurance coverage for Ariella’s care.

Her father shared:

“It’s very hard. We are getting through though.”
