Jacoby Leonard is my 12 year old son who has been evaluated by his dentist and was formally recommended for orthodontic treatment due to a crossbite. This is not a cosmetic issue; it affects his bite alignment and long term oral health. Despite the medical recommendation, Medicaid denied coverage for his braces.

The estimated cost for the necessary treatment is approximately $6,270, which is far beyond what our family can afford. I am currently on disability and living with kidney disease, which requires ongoing care and limits my ability to work. My wife is my primary caregiver, which prevents her from working full time as well. Because of this, our household survives on a fixed income. We have a family of seven, and after covering essential bills, there is very little left each month for unexpected or high medical expenses.

Given our medical and financial circumstances, paying out of pocket for orthodontic treatment is not possible. However, my son’s crossbite needs to be corrected to prevent future complications, pain, and more serious dental issues as he grows.

We are seeking assistance, consideration, or any available support program that could help make this medically necessary treatment accessible for him.
