Ky is raising funds to purchase a wheelchair van. Ky's disabilities started in childhood, but have progresses significantly in adulthood, and currently they're unable to navigate the world independently due to not being able to fit their wheelchair in a vehicle. This impacts every aspect of life.

Currently their partner helps them access medical appointments and relies on borrowing a wheelchair van friend on occasion to go out. Ky is a disability advocate, member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and artist. Prior to going on disability themselves, they worked in disability and social services as a para professional, direct support professional, case manager, and social worker.

Ky continues to do inter community social work since they had to stop working, through volunteering and online charity work. Having a reliable vehicle that accommodates their mobility aid would make this possible in person and more often. It would also make accessing community spaces in general as well as doctors appointments and treatments much more accessible, safer, and less painful. Limited disability resources barely cover daily living, and the cost of wheelchair van and modification is exorbitant.
