“Featuring titanium, grit, and one hell of a support crew”

On July 26, our lives changed in an instant. Our brother, Kyle, was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that left him fighting for his life. He was airlifted to Maine Medical Center, where an incredible team of doctors and nurses immediately began performing life-saving procedures. Before I share the rest of Kyle’s journey, I wanted to introduce myself. Hi, I’m Kaylie—Kyle’s sister. While Kyle hasn’t known me my entire life, I’ve had the privilege of knowing him since the day he was born. Most little girls dream of having a baby sister, but I was lucky enough to get a baby brother instead, and I wouldn’t have changed that for the world. Kyle has always been someone people naturally gravitate toward. He’s an extraordinary athlete, the kind of friend who would drop everything to help someone in need, an incredible uncle, and the person you want in your corner when life gets hard. He has a quiet strength, a contagious laugh, and a heart that’s bigger than he’ll ever admit. Watching someone you love fight through something like this leaves you feeling helpless at times. I realized the best thing I could do—the thing Kyle would want me to do—was put that energy into sharing his story, keeping everyone updated, and helping build the support system he’ll need for the road ahead. Since that day, Kyle has endured multiple surgeries to repair the extensive injuries he sustained. His injuries include a fractured pelvis, a shattered femur, significant vascular injuries requiring an aortic stent, kidney injuries, and the removal of a portion of his colon. Every day has brought new challenges, new victories, and another step forward in what will be a long and difficult recovery. The love our family has received from friends, neighbors, coworkers, complete strangers, and this incredible community has been overwhelming in the best possible way.

Every message, prayer, meal, donation, and act of kindness has reminded us that we are not walking this road alone. We can never fully express how grateful we are. After much thought, we’ve decided to transition Kyle’s fundraiser from GoFundMe to Annie’s Angels. We feel this is the best path forward because of the incredible community, local connections, and ongoing support they provide to families throughout the Seacoast. Their mission of helping local families resonates deeply with us, and we’re so thankful to partner with an organization that offers not only financial assistance but also a network of people who truly care. All of the funds that have been raised so far will be transferred directly into Kyle’s Annie’s Angels account. As Kyle continues to heal, we’ll also be working alongside Annie’s Angels to organize future fundraising events. We’re excited to share those opportunities with you as they come together, and we’ll keep everyone updated along the way. Right now, our primary focus is ensuring Kyle receives the exceptional rehabilitation and continued medical care he deserves. His journey is far from over, and the next phase of recovery will require specialized rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and accommodations that will help prepare him for returning home safely. Our goal is to remove as many obstacles from his path as possible so he can focus entirely on healing. We will continue to share Kyle’s story—not only to keep everyone updated, but because every message of encouragement reminds him that an entire community is standing beside him. Kyle still has a long road ahead, but together, we hope to make that road just a little smoother.
