Zack Weinberger is a 25-year-old who suffers from a rare form of Epilepsy called Lafora disease. It’s a terminal, progressive form of epilepsy that, since his diagnosis in 2015, has left him bedridden and on a ventilator. He has been stripped of his ability to walk, speak, feed himself and overall care for himself. He suffers daily seizures. The disease is so rare that when he was diagnosed, there were only about 200 cases in the world.
Please make a tax deductible donation to help our family manage these difficult days ahead.
Weinberger Family Assistance Fund
Our family made a promise to Zack that he would be cared for at home. As his health declines to end of life care, it’s his wish and our promise that he would be home, surrounded by family and caregivers who love him.
We are in crisis because in addition to a severe lack of home nursing care, we are struggling to juggle the costs of medicine not paid for by insurance, mounting bills and delinquent mortgage in addition to end of life costs. Even with an amazing support group of friends, family, and church family, our financial situation is suffocating and continues to get worse. It is putting an incredible strain on our entire family.
